I've been watching the Tea Parties and various coverage of them for the last day or so and have noticed that everyone says that the participants are in general middle to upper class working citizens. If I had to guess, a fair portion of them would fall into the top 10% of earners in this country. So, the media have portrayed them in many instances as being rich white folks that do not want to pay their fair share or in Joe Bidens words "It's time to be Patriotic."
Now I'm thinking about that....it's time to be patriotic....hmmmm.
I think he's right. It is time to be patriotic. It is time to do our part. It is time that those who live off of the countries goods to contribute more to the country that gave it to them. It is time for the other half of this country to pick themselves up and quit begging at the feet of the Government. It is time for the Government to quit building itself up by taking from those that power her.
The Top 10% of this country pay nearly 71% of the ALL taxes in this country. The bottom 50% pay only 2.6%. Think about that for a minute....Don't worry I'm not going anywhere.
They now want us to pay more. They now try to impune our patriotism by saying we don't love our country if we don't want to pay more. It's not just the top 10%, soon it'll be the top 25% then 50%. There is already nearly 50% of the country that does not now and never will pay a dime in taxes. They will live their lives and benefit from our work and production. They are the ones that will wrench from our existance everything they and their Government conspiritors can get away with.
It is time that we become more patriotic. It is time that we do those that live from the Government coffers a favor (this includes career politicians). They will never be good patriotic citizens until they can earn the right to pay taxes. Isn't that what Ol' Joe was saying...
What would happen if we in that 10% were as a collective to stop payments to this parasitic system? How would it survive? We empower it. We pay for it. We handed our robber the gun and he's using it.
It is time that our purse strings were drawn tight.
It is time for the dog to take a bite at the ticks on his back....
